Richard is recognised for his unique blend of construction industry and insurance experience alongside his personal approach which gives him an unrivalled ability to deliver expert insight and solutions.

He is a qualified Quantity Surveyor who commenced his career in Dublin with Kingston Construction Ltd as a Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager in the commercial construction sector. He spent ten years in this very hands-on role and was responsible for construction projects worth €250,000 to €5 million.

Richard returned to the West in the early 2000’s to work as a freelance Quantity Surveyor. During the severe weather events of 2009 and 2010, he joined OSG Loss Adjusters in response to the emergency demand for Quantity Surveyors. With experience under his belt in the claims insurance industry he undertook the Insurance Institute exams and obtained authorisation to practice as Public Loss Assessor through the Central Bank Regulatory Authorities in October 2016.

Today, through RM Gibbons & Associates, Richard offers a personal and responsive service that is trusted by homeowners, investors, businesses, commercial and agricultural clients.
